In an expected move, it’s now sure news that Ford will stop manufacturing in India at its 2 plants.
Ford will not completely stop selling in India. It will continue to sell it’s premium brands of Mustang etc. by importing CBU.
Lack of entry level car, no upgraded models to match/beat competition, failure of JV with Mahindra meant Ford can’t sell the required numbers.
Setting up the second factory when the utilization of first factory itself was not fully utilized meant, Ford India was taking a big risk without a proper product range.
