This is a new voluntary scheme offered to private vehicle registrants. If you are a person belonging to categories explained bellow, you will get eligibility to opt for this scheme.

The new Bharat Series (BH series) will help people who move from state to state frequently due to the nature of their job by not requiring the re-register their vehicle again if they are transferred to a new state.

The scheme is available to personal vehicles owned by

  • Defense personnel
  • Employees of central government
  • Employees of state govt
  • Employees of companies having offices in atleast 4 states and or UTs

Currently if you are transferred to a new state, you have to re register in the new state within 12 months.

In the new scheme, the registrant will pay road tax for only 2 years (Or in multiples of 2 years) instead of 15 years. This makes the new state eligible to get the road tax after 2 years when the registrant notifies about the use of vehicle in new state in an online process.

The earlier method of paying the road tax for the balance in 15 years in new state and claiming the amount back from old state was complicated and many people were opting the sell the car they own and buy a car in new state.

    This is a wonderful scheme,
Even it wants implement to district wise for CC process,
When we purchase 2nd cars from other districts, getting CC is a biggest headache.
